Men’s Chiefs Watch Party | TONIGHT
Join other men from our Downtown Campus and brothers from our sister church, Christian Fellowship Baptist, for the Sunday Night Football Chiefs vs. Steelers game tonight at Demdaco's corporate office (Parkway Plaza West, 5000 W 134th St., Leawood, KS 66209). Drinks will be provided; brings snacks to share. The game starts around 7:30pm, but feel free to arrive earlier to make sure you don't miss kickoff!
First Friday Gallery Opening | October 7
The Four Chapter Gallery at our Downtown Campus will be displaying artist Melinda Carter’s “Dispatch” show. Come on First Friday, between 5:30-9pm, to experience Melinda’s work and to enjoy the other outstanding galleries in the Crossroads neighborhood.
Race 2 Unite KC | October 8

Essentials Workshop | October 8
We’re excited for our first Essentials workshop, “How to Read the Bible for Yourself,” on Saturday, October 8, from 9:00-11:30am at the Downtown Campus. These workshops offer interactive, practical learning focused on the basic practices of the Christian life. Childcare will be provided. Space is limited, so register today!
Navigating to 100 | October 8
This symposium on aging is presented by both Consortium for Care and Christ Community. This one-day event, held from 8am-2pm at the Leawood Campus, is open to the community and offers classes and resources on topics of caregiving and aging. More info at <i>ChristCommunityKC.org</i>.

OPENING UP: In what areas of your life do you experience “Chicken Little” moments? What acorns make you believe the sky is falling?
SCRIPTURE: Read Daniel 1:1-3. Despite all that is happening around him, Daniel insists that God is ultimately in control. If that is still true today, how might that truth change how you view and live in the world?
REFLECTING: If God is in control, that means humans, by definition, are not in control. How does that make you feel? Do you that believe that our not being in control is a good thing, a bad thing, a frustrating thing?
ASSESSING HABITS: How can you become more excited about the ways God is at work, even in the midst of difficult realities in our lives and in our world?
PRAYER: As you pray together, ask God to grow your trust in the goodness of His control over everything.
